Tin tailings from Perak State contain tin particles smaller than 0.1 mm. By utilising expanded metal mesh with electroformed nickel mesh technology (40 μm aperture), tin recovery rates could be increased by 6% in the future, resulting in an additional annual yield of approximately 12 tonnes of tin ingots. The mesh’s nano-coating design prevents material build-up, resulting in a screening efficiency 40% higher than that of traditional screens, and aligns with Malaysia’s circular economy policy.
