Warehouse partition fencing protects bananas from floodwater and coastal salt spray in Colombia
2026-04-28
316 stainless steel partition fencing is used in the banana warehouse at the Port of Barranquilla to separate ripening zones; no signs of rust have been observed after two years. Resistant to salt-laden sea breeze corrosion, the banana browning rate has fallen from 28% to 7%, extending the shelf life by 12 days. An exporter stated: “The ability to quickly sort premium-grade fruit during loading has led to a 35% increase in orders for the US market, with a premium of US$8 per tonne. The mesh’s resistance to humid heat has far exceeded expectations.”
