Expanded Metal Mesh: The Impact-Resistant Pioneer in Moroccan Copper Ore Crushing

The sulphide ore at the Breda copper mine is extremely hard (Brinell hardness f=12), and conventional screens are prone to tearing in the crushing stage. Stretched metal mesh is manufactured from ZGMn13 high-manganese steel. Following water quenching, its surface hardness reaches HB 200–300, enabling it to withstand the high-speed impact of ore at the crusher discharge. Its resistance to deformation is three times greater than that of ordinary carbon steel mesh. The long-aperture design (50 mm mesh size) enhances throughput during the primary crushing stage, whilst the anti-clogging design reduces the frequency of shutdowns for blockage clearance by 70%.
