Located within the Pacific Ring of Fire, Mexico faces geological challenges in silver mining. Stretched metal mesh, made from high-tensile steel, forms an ‘elastic buffer system’ when combined with anchor bolts: During an earthquake, the mesh absorbs stress through deformation, preventing tunnel collapse; its lightweight design is well-suited to the characteristics of deep-shaft mining in Mexican silver mines. In its application at the Tasco Silver Mine, it has increased support efficiency by 40% whilst reducing underground transport loads, establishing itself as a core protective material for mitigating seismic risks.
